BOWIE, Md  (WUSA) -  A mother and daughter will accept master's degrees together at Bowie State University on Friday.

Nora Fields, 54, and Tanickie Gomillion, 38, will each receive Master of Arts degrees in mental health counseling after getting a late start on their higher

Fields will graduate with a concentration in addictions, while Gomillion will graduate with a concentration in addictions as well as marriage and family counseling.

Both women had become pregnant as teenagers, but after Fields spent years raising her family, she earned her high school diploma when she was 28, then began pursuing her bachelor's degree when she was 46.

After Fields asked her daughtern to attend an open house at Sojourner Douglass College in Baltimore, Md. with her , they both enrolled, then majored in psychology together and graduated with their bachelor's degrees together. Both then enrolled at Bowie State, ultimately majoring in mental health

BOWIE, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police confirm a vehicle crashed into the AT&T Store at 3921 Town Center Blvd. in Bowie, Md.

The report came in at 1:37 p.m. Monday.

COLUMBIA,Md. (WUSA) -  "In reality it's not safe," said Lt. Carlton Saunders of Howard County fire. "It's not tested. It's kids teaching other kids how to do things that are wrong."

"Juveniles, mainly boys, are experimenting with small fires which grow to larger fires," said Lt. Saunders. "They're also experimenting with making bottle bombs."

LARGO, Md. (WUSA) -- Kyra Chimere Smith was arrested on Monday in Largo on charges that she assaulted her mother and father before grabbing a knife and threatening to kill her father, says the Prince George's County Sheriff's Office.

...more warrant filed by Bowie Police and dated March 10 states that Smith tried to jump from a second story window while holding her one-year-old child before Bowie Police could restrain her. She got away but an investigation led officers to her at a location in Largo on Monday.

Smith is being held at the Prince George's County Department of Corrections on a $175,000 bond.

Smith is charged with first and second degree assault, second degree child abuse, reckless endangerment, and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

UPPER MARLBORO, Md (WUSA) - Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela D. Alsobrooks announced Thursday that a grand jury has indicted 16-year-old Garrett Alexander Bailey of Bowie for allegedly threatening to kill Prince George's County Circuit Court Judge Herman Dawson last

On February 2,  Bailey allegedly made threats against Dawson through his Twitter account and on his Facebook page.

Bailey is charged as an adult with: one count of solicitation to commit murder; four counts of threatening a state official; two counts of misuse of e-mail; one count of witness intimidation; and one count of obstruction of justice. He could face life in prison.

Bailey is currently being held in Cheltenham Youth Detention Center and will continue to be held there pending trial. His next court appearance will be at arraignment, which will likely be in early April.

BOWIE, MD. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police spokesperson Julie Parker says that a car taken from a home in Bowie after a robbery on Thursday morning has been recovered. She says the 1999 gold Jaguar was found unoccupied in Upper Marlboro on Friday morning.

According to police, two males dressed in all black and wearing black ski masks kicked in a back door to the home and then displayed what's described as a "long gun" before tying up the three victims -- an elderly couple and their adult daughter.

The males took some money and one of the victim's Jaguar with Maryland plates.

None of the victims were injured.

BOWIE, Md. (WUSA) -- Prince George's County Police are looking for two masked gunmen who tied up three people and stole money and a car from a Bowie home.

Police say they responded to the scene in the 12600 block of Henderson Chapel Lane in Bowie around 5:45 a.m.

CROFTON, Md. (WUSA) -- A passenger of a car who allegedly stabbed the driver of another car in an Anne Arundel County road rage incident is being charged with assault and other offenses.

It all began around 4 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Riedel Road and Route 3 North in Crofton. Witnesses say a man and woman in a Ford Explorer, who had just gotten married, were playing around at a red light -- getting out of their car, running around it and then getting back in, exchanging seats.

Witnesses say the people in the car next to them, a PT Cruiser, didn't appreciate that, so they started making obscene gestures at the married couple. That's when things started getting ugly.
