RESTON, Va. (WUSA) - Metro Rail's Silver Line is well underway, but whether it stops in Reston or continues to Dulles Airport is up in the air. Phase II is supposed to include two stops in Loudoun County along the Greenway.

But Loudoun Supervisors may not let that happen. The board
...more will vote in July whether to accept the millions of dollars in costs to bring Metro Rail into Loudoun, or to opt out.

"I don't have anything against Rail to Dulles, I think it should go to the airport and stop there.  I just don't think Loudoun residents benefit from it," said Supervisor Ken Reid who is still unconvinced after listening to George Mason University economist Stephen Fuller.

Only three of Loudoun County's nine supervisors came to hear Fuller's dire economic projections on Wednesday for NOT building rail into Loudoun.

"It's whether or not Loudoun County wants to be part of the party.  And,  otherwise, the outcome is more residential

HERNDON, Va. (WUSA) -- Why would anyone want to hurt horses used to help kids with special needs? It's a question Fairfax County Police are trying to answer after three horses were stabbed at the Frying Pan Farm Park's Equestrian Facilities in Herndon.

"It's a nightmare. It's
...more something beyond possible, beyond real world," said Davorka Suvak, who runs the Spirit Open Equestrian Program. "I survived war in Croatia and this is kind of similar. You cannot accept it. It's hard to say, 'That's life.' It's not life. It shouldn't be."

On Wednesday night, someone stabbed three of Suvak's six horses.

"These horses are patient, tolerant, and very social. They don't have that natural instinct to just run away from a stranger. They greeted him," said Suvak. "They were so confused and so in shock that he was able to do it again and again. Some of them had two, three, four, five wounds."

Whoever did it didn't just hurt the horses, they also hurt all

RESTON, Va. (WUSA) - There is serious concern the Dulles Rail project's phase II is in jeopardy.  Construction of the Silver Line to Dulles Airport might just stop right here at Reston with phase I if Loudoun County's board opts out of the phase II.

George Mason University
...more economist Stephen Fuller says that would be a huge mistake."You can't go back and change your mind later. The opportunity will be lost forever," said Fuller.

The Reston Chamber of Commerce put on a show of force today, promoting all the benefits of continuing the project. Loudoun Chair Scott York is trying to muster the votes on his board.

"If we want to continue to bring businesses to Loudoun County, we have to build the infrasture. we can't just invite them to the table we have to put food on the table," York said.

Fuller said, "It's going to create a a reverse commute to work."

Opponents say the $3 billion cost is too high, that the rail ridership

WASHINGTON, DC., (WUSA) -- At the Eleanor Ford Reading Center in Prince George's County, putting words together is like taking a final victory lap around a track.

"You guys are doing really great with your reading," says Robin Bruce, the director of the center.

This
...more center operates thanks to dozens of books from a literacy organization called Reading Tree.

"This pushes the skills over the top, having these books for them to read," says Bruce.

Some of those books come from blue bins, like the ones you see in this Virginia parking lot.

They are marked with words like "books for charity" and "donate books, CD's and DVDs."

"Because I'm a Friends of the Library volunteer, I suppose you could say I'm extra sensitive to the appearance of this box," says Pamela Chin.

Pamela Chin is bin skeptic.

The library volunteer, and Reston resident, wanted to know more about the boxes that she says resulted in a 20
