Va. Man Arrested In Murder For Hire Plot

WOODBRIDGE, Va. (WUSA) -- Police say a Woodbridge man has been arrested and charged for a murder for hire plot. 

According to Prince William County police, the department's homicide unit and the ATF Northern Virginia Violent Crimes Task Force began investigating a murder for hire plot...more on May 8. The plot was reportedly arranged in the 15800 block of Donald Curtis Dr in Woodbridge. 

Michael George Rusinack allegedly made arrangements with an acquaintance to have a 28-year-old man from Woodbridge killed after the two were involved in a "domestic related feud," say police.

Rusinack was arrested on May 12 and charged with solicitation to commit capital murder.

He is being held without bond. His court date is set for June 13.

Thefts From Vehicles Concern Police In One Va. City

MANASSAS, Va. (WUSA) -- A series of thefts from parked cars, during overnight hours, has police on alert in Manassas. 

"Larcenies from vehicles and larcenies of motor vehicle parts are the most commonly reported property offenses in the City of Manassas. Citizen reports of larcenies...more from vehicles resulted in 106 calls for service for the City of Manassas Police Department between December 1, 2011 and May 14, 2012 alone," police said in a news release.

In just one day, from May 11 to May 12, eight thefts were reported at these addresses:

• 9400 block of Flowerden Ln

• 10200 block of Cleary St

• 10200 block of Battlefield Dr

• 10000 block of Greenleaf Dr

Family Member Charged After Boy Found Walking Down Street

BRISTOW, Va. (WUSA) -- A family member has been charged with felony child neglect after a two-year-old boy was found walking by himself down a street in Bristow on Monday morning.

According to Prince William County Police, a caller reported to police they he or she had found the boy...more in the 11200 block of Mastiff Run Ct walking down the street in the rain. The caller had put the child in a vehicle and called police. 

Police arrived at the scene at about 11 a.m. on Monday and were were able to locate the child's home in the 9100 block of Ribbon Falls Lp. Police say about an hour and a half passed between finding the child and locating a family member at the home. A family member there was unaware of the boy was not home, say police.

Police say they charged 34-year-old Winifred Mensah with felony child neglect. She has been released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
